BIO COATINGS FOR FOOD WASTE

Natural edible coatings are revolutionizing food storage by extending the shelf life of produce and reducing waste. Companies like Apeel Sciences, Mori, Hazel Technologies, It’s Fresh, SoFresh, and SuSea use innovative technologies to prevent spoilage. For example, Apeel Sciences uses plant-based coatings to double the shelf life of fruits, and Mori employs silk protein to keep produce fresh. By supporting these eco-friendly solutions, we can significantly cut down on the 1.3 billion tons of food wasted annually.
