GRID DECONGESTION

The surge in renewable energy, electric vehicles, and electrification is putting immense strain on our outdated energy grid, causing inefficiencies and limiting clean energy integration. To solve this, we need to modernize the grid with innovative technologies like smart grids, large-scale energy storage, microgrids, and demand response programs. Companies like Innowatts, Ageto Energy, and Smart Wires are leading the way, helping create a more resilient and efficient energy system.

🪴 SENIOR EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER
➵ Gridware, a fast-growing grid-resiliency company in San Francisco, seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to develop firmware for their microcontroller platform, helping prevent grid-ignited wildfires. You will solve power, communication, and signal processing challenges, develop C++ drivers for sensors, and optimize data processing in resource-limited environments. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of embedded software experience, strong C/C++ knowledge, and are comfortable working across hardware, firmware, and software domains. Experience with Python, Git, Linux, and debugging tools like oscilloscopes is essential.

🪴 SENIOR FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER
➵ Gridware, a grid-resiliency company in San Francisco, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop scalable software systems that process real-time data from grid monitoring sensors. You'll work on full-stack development, building systems for device control, observability, and customer-facing features. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of Python backend experience, cloud-based application development (AWS preferred), and proficiency with React, TypeScript, SQL, and observability tools. Experience with event-driven architectures, containerization, and APIs is key.

🪴 SENIOR DATA ENGINEER
➵ Gridware, a fast-growing grid-resiliency company in San Francisco, seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and optimize data pipelines for real-time grid monitoring systems. You'll handle large-scale sensor data, ensure data integrity, and collaborate with various teams to meet data requirements. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of data engineering experience, proficiency in SQL, Python, big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), and experience with Databricks and Grafana.

🪴 COMPUTATIONAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER
➵ We are partnering with a company focused on accelerating the transition to a reliable, decarbonized grid through software solutions for grid operators, utilities, and renewable energy developers. They are seeking a computational software engineer to build cloud-based solutions that streamline grid study processes and accelerate renewable energy deployment. Key skills include Python, C++ (preferred), and experience with high-performance numerical products and cloud environments. Familiarity with power systems and numerical methods is a plus. This hybrid role is based in Pittsburgh, PA.

That's all for this edition! Thanks for doing your part in mobilizing a workforce transition to work on climate!
