Your weekly recap + hot climate jobs

Driven By Impact 🌱

Edition 40: January 25, 2024

Yesterday, we hosted Radhika Bhatt, a career coach and climate recruiter, for a session on “Humanizing Your Job Search.”

In the hour-long session, Radhika walked us through telling your climate story, the anti-perfectionism mindset, making your job search regenerative, and the behavior shifts that make the climate job search feel less daunting.

Check out the recording to take advantage of some of her incredible and uplifting advice.

“I just attended an awesome webinar on Humanizing the Job Search, hosted by Radhika Bhatt and Climate People.

💡One of the key points was focusing on what is within our sphere of control. There’s so much we can’t control when it comes to looking for jobs (ie: whether or not that recruiter responds to you, the state of the job market, layoffs, etc.), and that can be super stressful. But there are things we CAN control, and that’s where our opportunities are.”

GREEN AMMONIA: A CONVOLUTED CLIMATE SOLUTION

Ammonia is being explored as a potential climate solution due to its ability to store energy and act as a fertilizer. However, traditional ammonia production methods contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. The production process emits carbon dioxide (CO2) and releases nitrous oxide, a potent greenhouse gas. Green ammonia, produced using renewable energy sources, offers a promising alternative that can significantly reduce carbon emissions. It has the potential to decarbonize various sectors, such as shipping, energy storage, coal co-firing, turbines, and hydrogen cracking. Companies like Amogy, Yara, and Monolith are pioneering green ammonia technologies, showcasing its versatility and potential for reducing emissions. Supporting research, innovation, and policy changes can drive the transition towards sustainable ammonia production.
