BUILDING ELECTRIFICATION
Building electrification represents a crucial step forward in the fight against climate change. It offers a solution to significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality and health outcomes. By shifting American homes from fossil fuels to clean electricity for heating and cooking, we begin addressing the environmental impact of residential buildings, which account for nearly 30% of the country's emissions.
Organizations such as the Building Decarbonization Coalition, RMI, Rewiring America, and several innovative companies are leading the charge towards building electrification, showcasing all-electric homes' economic and environmental advantages.
🪴 HEAD OF ENGINEERING
➵ Community Energy Labs (CEL) is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the development of their AI-powered clean building control platform, which is focused on enabling buildings, particularly community buildings and schools, to use energy efficiently. This role involves close collaboration with the CEO to evolve the product from its current prototype to version 1.0 and beyond, as well as building and managing the first complete engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in software development, including experience with enterprise SaaS, IoT, and ML engineering teams, and a strong foundation in modern programming languages and cloud computing environments. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, 5-10 years of software development experience, and demonstrated leadership in software development and deployment.
🪴 COMPUTATIONAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER
➵ We are partnering with a company focused on accelerating the transition to a decarbonized grid by providing software solutions to electric grid operators, utilities, and renewable energy project developers. They seek a motivated software engineer to build cloud software that facilitates deploying renewable energy projects. Key responsibilities include translating manual grid study processes into efficient code, deploying large-scale compute code on cloud infrastructure, and collaborating with the team to define product requirements. Proficiency in Python is required, and knowledge of C++, power systems, and cloud environments like AWS is advantageous. A BS/MS/PhD in EE/CE/ECE/CS and relevant software engineering experience are preferred.
🪴 CLIMATE TECHNOLOGY ANALYST I
➵ Our client, an advisory firm aiding startups and Fortune 500 companies in securing government funding within the semiconductor, material science, clean tech, industrial, and energy sectors, seeks a candidate for independent technology research and analyses. Responsibilities include staying updated on government programs, supporting technical presentations, grant applications, RFP responses, managing schedules, assisting in client deliverables, and creating value propositions. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in hard science or engineering, possess strong analytical and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience in relevant sectors is a plus.
That's all for this edition! Thanks for doing your part in mobilizing a workforce transition to work on climate!
